About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated property, ensuring that it meets financial and operational goals while complying with relevant laws and company policies. This role involves managing staff, handling budgets, and maintaining resident satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned property.
  • Oversee property staff by interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training employees.
  • Analyze financial statements and develop budgets for the property.
  • Set rent rates and ensure timely collection of rent and fees.
  • Approve invoices from vendors and manage communication between parties.
  • Control expenditures to stay within the approved budget.
  • Enforce lease agreements and conduct periodic apartment inspections.
  • Respond to resident complaints and promote satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist in managing the client/owner relationship and provide performance updates.

Requirements

  • Experience in property management or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and implement marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multi-family housing operations.
  • Familiarity with property management software.
  • Leadership experience in a similar role.
