About the position

The Community Manager position is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all on-site operations at our properties located in Fayetteville, AR or Dallas, TX. This role reports directly to regional leadership and is integral to ensuring the financial performance of the property, developing a high-performing team, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. As a Community Manager, you will embody and promote the company's core values, fostering a positive and productive environment for both staff and residents. In this role, you will manage the marketing, leasing, and collections processes to generate revenue effectively. You will also be responsible for managing the property budget and financials, ensuring that the property meets or exceeds budget expectations. Collaboration with leadership and corporate departments is essential to improve performance and drive innovative ideas that enhance the community's appeal and operational efficiency. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include handling resident inquiries with empathy and efficiency, overseeing property maintenance, vendor services, and capital improvements to maintain the property's aesthetics while managing expenses. Compliance with fair housing laws and regulations is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that all operations align with legal standards. Additionally, you may be assigned other duties as needed to support the overall success of the property and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a high performing on-site team.
  • Manage the marketing, leasing, and collections to generate revenue.
  • Manage the property budget and financials to meet and/or exceed budget expectations.
  • Collaborate with leadership and corporate departments to improve performance and drive new ideas.
  • Handle resident inquiries quickly and empathetically.
  • Oversee property maintenance, vendor services, and capital improvements to maintain aesthetics and manage expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of multi-family management experience.
  • Affordable Housing experience required, specifically with Tax Credit/LIHTC/Section 42 properties strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) credential strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Top-notch customer service and leadership skills.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
