About the position

The Community Manager-in-Training position at YES Communities is designed for individuals looking to develop their leadership skills within the manufactured housing industry. This role involves learning the essential functions of community management, including operational tasks, resident relations, and team development, while working under the supervision of a Regional Manager. The position emphasizes the importance of creating a positive community environment and effectively managing both team members and resident concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory, marketing, and advertising plans
  • Oversee sales of new, used, and foreclosed homes
  • Collect all rent and loan monies to meet the company delinquency rate
  • Maximize Community occupancy and leased home income
  • Professionally resolve resident communications and concerns
  • Provide hands-on leadership and management to all team members
  • Recruit, train, and develop team
  • Create and maintain a positive Community environment including resident activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with cities, municipalities, and counties
  • Communicate and manage policies and procedures
  • Reply to emails within an average of 24 hours or less
  • Create and ensure a safe work environment
  • Protect and maintain Company assets
  • Control expenses
  • Maintain professional behavior which does not interfere with the individual's work, the work of another Team Member, or the quality of life for Community Residents
  • Assure that all vendors are on the approved vendor list and are compliant with NetVendor
  • Conduct market surveys as required and create and implement marketing plans for ongoing success and high occupancy of community
  • Perform and schedule help with all evictions, utility cut off's and enforce adherence to all rules and regulations by all residents
  • Attend all company meetings, training, and conferences as requested by the management
  • Additional duties as assigned by Regional Manager and are subject to change

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid in-state driver's license is required
  • Property management or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage team performance
  • Computer Skills including Microsoft Office software products
  • Team oriented with an innate ability to build community with team members both at the community level and beyond

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property management
  • State-specific licensing within 90 days of employment
