About the position

The Student Housing General Manager at BHOM Student Living is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the assigned property, ensuring effective execution of staffing, administration, and day-to-day business functions. This role emphasizes customer service, team engagement, and operational excellence to maintain resident satisfaction and property standards.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, mentor, and coach all property team members for success.
• Manage team scheduling and ensure operational standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain leasing and marketing activities and programs, participating in sales calls, tours, and presentations as needed.
• Provide guidance on student behavioral issues, mediate roommate conflicts, and respond to resident complaints.
• Physically inspect units and common areas to ensure property standards are met and maintained.
• Track maintenance requests and follow up on timely completion; coordinate unit turnover for scheduled move-ins.
• Manage all costs and expenses to maximize net operating income (NOI) and ensure financial controls are followed.
• Develop relationships with campus departments and organizations for marketing opportunities and oversee outreach efforts.
• Supervise and manage spending for Community Ambassador organized events.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of campus departments and on-campus housing.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and strong computer technology skills, including social media use.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong customer mindset and demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Entrata.
• Previous work experience in a student/on-campus housing environment, preferably in a leadership role.
