About the position

As a Community Manager at Youth For Understanding USA (YFU), you will play a pivotal role in connecting international high school students with American host families. This position involves not only managing but also mentoring a team of local coordinators to recruit volunteer host families, ensuring a positive experience for all involved. You will be responsible for guiding families through the recruitment process and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines, all while fostering relationships within your community.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of local coordinators to recruit volunteer host families.
  • Mentor and inspire local coordinators through communication, training, and coaching.
  • Guide families through the recruitment process to ensure they meet YFU's requirements.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to ensure compliance with US Department of State and YFU guidelines.
  • Network and forge connections within schools and communities to promote the program.
  • Adapt to new technologies and motivate others to achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, volunteer management, or recruitment.
  • Strong networking and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce results under tight deadlines.
  • Solid work ethic and high level of accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nonprofit management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Direct sales experience.
  • Team development skills.
