About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned property, ensuring that financial and operational goals are met while complying with relevant laws and company policies. This role involves managing staff, handling budgets, and maintaining resident satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the property, including team management and resource allocation.
  • Develop and analyze budgets by reviewing financial statements and operational reports.
  • Set rent rates and ensure timely collection of rents and fees, preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Approve vendor invoices and manage communication between vendors and accounting.
  • Control expenditures to stay within budget constraints and manage petty cash.
  • Oversee lease enforcement, including approving resident applications and conducting inspections.
  • Implement marketing and leasing strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Promote resident satisfaction by addressing complaints and service requests promptly.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Supervise property staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assist in managing client/owner relationships through regular updates and property tours.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property management or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with marketing strategies in the real estate sector.
  • Familiarity with property management software.
  • Certifications in property management or real estate.
