About the position

The Community Manager (CM) at Jubilee Housing is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 120 affordable housing units across four buildings in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C. This role involves collaboration with various departmental teams to ensure compliance with housing laws, effective leasing, maintenance, and administration. The CM is expected to maintain well-managed properties and foster an engaged resident community, while also supervising staff and being a visible presence at the properties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of 120 units across four buildings.
  • Oversee leasing, maintenance, and compliance with housing laws.
  • Supervise staff and maintain a regular presence at assigned properties.
  • Collaborate with Resident Services and Property Management teams.
  • Ensure properties are fully occupied and well-managed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least five years of property management and affordable housing management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years managing multiple sites and over 100 units.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and property management software (Realpage products).
  • Strong oral and written communication and public relations skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing a property undergoing renovation.
  • Relevant certifications for property management and affordable housing (e.g., LIHTC, HCCP, SHCM, CAM, ARM).
