About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a residential property, ensuring it is maintained to company standards while driving financial performance. This role involves preparing business plans, managing staff, and implementing company strategies to achieve operational and financial goals. The Community Manager will also engage with the community and represent the company in various local initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the annual business plan and be accountable for achievement of results.
  • Provide direction and execute operational processes and procedures.
  • Ensure property maintenance meets company standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections.
  • Collaborate with supporting departments as needed.
  • Implement process changes and initiatives.
  • Approve new resident applications and submit renewal plans for approval.
  • Monitor and report incidents and legal risks.
  • Coordinate annual unit inspections and complete required reports.
  • Operate under guidelines of local laws and ordinances.
  • Request resources when necessary and provide feedback for operational improvements.
  • Represent Centerspace in Conciliation Claims Court as needed.

Requirements

  • A two-year degree in Real Estate, Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or comparable proven experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in property management or related industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, with experience managing managers preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of P&L components.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, team member development, and team building.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet goals and time frames.
  • Exceptional customer-service skills with the ability to maintain strong working relations with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex operational matters daily.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community engagement and local networking.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
