About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and performance of a 263-unit community, Rancho Monte Vista, in Upland, CA. This role involves managing daily operations, hiring and training staff, ensuring compliance with policies, and maximizing revenue through effective management practices. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring, training, and developing a competent team.
  • Manages daily operations, including reviewing daily rent recommendations and identifying opportunities to maximize income.
  • Collects rents and implements timely legal delinquent rent procedures; ensures compliance with resident insurance procedures and screening criteria.
  • Implements resident retention procedures and ensures timely completion of weekly reports and invoice approvals.
  • Reviews and analyzes monthly performance, completing variance reports and initiating annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Identifies potential market challenges and creates effective marketing plans.
  • Bids out recurring contract work to assure quality and best price; monitors contractor performance and compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Ensures OSHA and safety procedures are implemented and that the team is educated on safety precautions.
  • Identifies potential repairs or capital projects in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor; ensures quality curb appeal and risk management issues are addressed.
  • Follows and implements company policies and property manuals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Community Manager.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent sales skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and area.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Knowledge of operations software used at the property level, including Outlook, Internet software, Excel, and Word.
