About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a housing community, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and managing personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, and administrative aspects of the property. This role requires effective leadership and strategic management to enhance resident satisfaction and achieve financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire operations of a housing community under the supervision of the Regional Manager.
  • Manage personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, administration, and risk management.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop on-site staff.
  • Complete weekly/daily office and maintenance staff schedules and assignments.
  • Achieve the highest possible net operating income through effective cost control and revenue improvement.
  • Develop yearly operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor timely receipt and reconciliation of deposits, rent collections, and vendor invoices.
  • Develop yearly marketing plans and ensure effective leasing techniques.
  • Handle resident complaints and develop resident retention programs.
  • Ensure all administrative and leasing reporting is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Head emergency response for the property and ensure proper handling of emergencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred or four years of experience in the housing industry.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to understand and perform all on-site software functions; basic computer skills required.
