About the position

At Wasatch Property Management, our Community Managers are dynamic and skilled leaders with a passion for exceptional customer service and strong business acumen. They are entrusted with the responsibility of achieving the financial and operational goals set for the community. This encompasses many areas, including personnel management, training, leasing, collections, resident services, maintenance, revenue enhancement, capital improvements, contracted services, administration, reporting, and safety and legal compliance. As a Community Manager, you will be a savvy and intelligent team leader, fully accountable for all aspects of your property's operations. This includes driving financial performance, ensuring resident satisfaction and retention, and cultivating an engaged and productive team. You will monitor various performance metrics, implement effective strategies to achieve operational and leasing goals, analyze and adapt to changing market conditions, and identify opportunities for improvement. Your role will involve directing sales activities, overseeing leasing administration, spearheading maintenance initiatives, and consistently exemplifying the Wasatch brand. At Wasatch, we believe in leading by example and understanding the challenges and responsibilities of our roles. You will actively engage in the community's daily operations, working alongside your leasing team on the sales floor, conducting inspections alongside maintenance professionals, and cultivating strong relationships with residents. Your deep knowledge of your community and submarket, including market conditions, competitor pricing, and upcoming lease-up developments, will make you an expert. Ultimately, you are the driving force behind the success of your property, overseeing team performance and growth, ensuring resident satisfaction, and achieving financial prosperity.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve financial and operational goals for the community.
  • Manage personnel, training, leasing, collections, and resident services.
  • Oversee maintenance and revenue enhancement initiatives.
  • Implement capital improvements and manage contracted services.
  • Ensure safety and legal compliance within the community.
  • Direct sales activities and oversee leasing administration.
  • Monitor performance metrics and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment and support team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible housing management or related experience.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to build a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask.
  • Superior customer service skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and risk management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property management software.
  • Familiarity with local housing market conditions.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
