About the position

As a Community Manager at Restaurant Associates, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals dedicated to delivering superior hospitality. This role is pivotal in planning, coordinating, and executing various activities and special events that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. You will be responsible for overseeing amenity spaces in New Jersey and New York, ensuring they are well-maintained and presentable. Your role will involve managing reservations for these spaces and coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless guest experiences during events. In this position, you will lead by example, displaying an energetic and approachable demeanor at all times. You will collaborate closely with key department leads to assist with culinary programs and manage the booking of Cooking School events. Your hands-on approach will be essential in executing events and activities, while your extensive knowledge of market trends and customer preferences will help identify opportunities for acquiring new clients through community events and trade shows. Effective communication is crucial in this role, as you will need to maintain a strong awareness of business activities and communicate effectively with various teams, including Guest Service, Facility Services, and Security. You will also be responsible for managing the activation events calendar and assisting with the creation and dissemination of marketing materials. This full-time position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, and is based in-person across the NJ and NY offices.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being by developing and executing unique employee events and experiences
  • Oversees the amenity spaces in NJ and NY
  • Ensures amenity spaces including furniture is consistently presentable and reports maintenance faults/hazards
  • Oversees reservations within EMS Reservation System for all activities in the amenity spaces and Cooking School
  • Coordinates with audiovisual team for ad hoc AV support requests from meeting participants
  • Partners with key department leads to assist with culinary programs in the Cooking School, Coffee bar, Wellness Bar, and Mobile Pickup
  • Responsible for the booking of all Cooking School events
  • Collaborates with Catering Managers/Directors on all events
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to acquire internal and external clients through trade shows and community events
  • Manages all activities and oversees the execution of events
  • Maintains knowledge of market trends, customers, and competitors
  • Ensures seamless communication flow with clients before, during, and after events
  • Manages and coordinates with Marketing/Communications Management on digital display content
  • Tours and meets with prospective clients to showcase spaces
  • Exhibits superb organization skills and manages multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
  • Manages activation events calendar, EventBrite listings, and monthly newsletter

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of corporate, conference center or hotels sales and/or events experience
  • Strong marketing background preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings
  • Effective negotiating skills managing outside vendors' relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and multitask
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of office technology/equipment
  • Knowledge of EMS is a plus
  • Discreet, ethical and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • Punctual, dependable and dedicated to achieving excellence
