About the position

The Community Manager at Elme Communities is responsible for enhancing the living experience for renters by providing exceptional customer service and operational leadership. This role involves managing a team, ensuring financial objectives are met, and fostering a sense of community among residents. The Community Manager will also play a key role in recruitment, team development, and maintaining compliance with legal requirements, all while promoting a culture of belonging and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

  • Elevate the customer service experience for existing and prospective residents.
  • Provide sales, customer service, and administrative leadership and support to the team and overall operation.
  • Assist with rent collection, timely bill processing, operational forecasting, and annual budget preparation.
  • Navigate and resolve resident issues with clear and courteous communication.
  • Contribute to the ideation and implementation of advertisement materials and community marketing campaigns.
  • Create and disseminate timely, clear, and compassionate communications to prospects, residents, vendors, and internal groups/team members.
  • Maintain an exceptional online reputation and compliance with state and local legal requirements.
  • Hire, inspire, and develop a diverse, high-performing team.
  • Coach and mentor team members in their professional and leadership development efforts.
  • Manage staff scheduling, employee time off requests, and general timekeeping responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A college degree or applicable lived experience.
  • Proven track record of career progression in the property management industry.
  • Exceptional aptitude to influence across functional areas without creating silos.
  • Strong financial aptitude and budget management skills.
  • Digitally proficient, including Excel, Word, PPT, MS Teams, and Social Media.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and/or industry-specific management software, such as Yardi.

  • Experience in a leadership role within property management.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
