About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a housing community, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, safety guidelines, and financial management. This role involves managing personnel, leasing, maintenance, and administration, while also focusing on resident satisfaction and community engagement. The Community Manager acts as an on-site leader, guiding staff and ensuring the property operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations of the housing community under the supervision of the Regional Supervisor.
  • Manage personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management of on-site staff.
  • Achieve the highest possible net operating income through effective cost control and revenue improvement.
  • Develop yearly operating budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial transactions.
  • Create and implement a yearly marketing plan to enhance leasing efforts.
  • Address resident complaints and develop retention programs to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate and timely administrative and leasing reporting.
  • Head the emergency response team for the property and manage property emergencies.
  • Maintain property appearance and ensure timely repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred or four years of experience in the housing industry.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to understand and perform all on-site software functions; basic computer skills required.
