About the position

The Patient Sitter role at Community Medical Center involves providing personal care services and continuous observation of patients requiring constant supervision. The sitter collaborates with hospital staff to ensure a safe environment, minimizing risks of falls and self-harm, while enhancing the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (grooming, bathing, feeding)
• Assist the Nursing staff with duties including administering patient vitals
• Assist nursing staff in creating, maintaining, and providing a safe environment
• Immediately report all changes in the condition of the patient/client to appropriate supervisor and staff
• Follow all required policies to avoid the transmission of illness by correctly wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction
• Adhere to confidentiality and patients' rights policy as outlined in the healthcare facility's HIPAA policies and procedures
• Work independently and as part of the team
• Attend required healthcare facility training and orientation programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 19 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience in patient care within a hospital environment is preferred
• Minimum of one to two years in a professional work environment required
• Authorized to work for any employer within the United States
• Must meet the healthcare facility's pre-assignment and medical requirements
• Must pass all onboarding screening processes
