About the position

Enterprise Bank & Trust is seeking a Community Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team. This hybrid position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping others achieve financial success through homeownership. The role involves making service calls to current and prospective customers to generate loan originations and cross-sell financial services and products. The Community Mortgage Loan Officer will also develop referral partner relationships within the real estate community and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) community. In this position, you will be responsible for generating customer prospects through outbound calling and meeting with clients. This includes prospecting for new loans through various channels such as phone calls, emails, and social networking. You will also be expected to cross-sell financial products to qualified prospects and utilize web-based CRM systems to assist in calling current company customers. A key part of your role will involve loading complete 1003 residential loan applications into our Loan Origination System (Encompass), pulling credit, determining eligibility, setting product, locking rates, and turning quality files into processing. You will discuss programs, products, and fees with customers to determine the best scenario for their needs, disclose documents within three days of application, and assist clients in getting their documents back. Building partnerships with real estate agents is crucial, and you will make service calls to nurture potential customers, prospect agents, and attend networking meetings. Additionally, you will attend relevant investor, bank, governmental, and association trainings as requested by your supervisor and engage in community events that promote homeownership in low to moderate-income areas. Maintaining an 85% customer satisfaction rating with borrowers and ensuring confidentiality of loan information are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Generate customer prospects through outbound calling and meeting with clients.

  • Disclose documents within 3 days of application.
  • Assist with getting documents back from client.
  • Become an expert on real estate agent partnership building, including making service calls to nurture potential customers, agent prospecting, and attending networking meetings.
  • Attend relevant investor, bank, governmental and association trainings as requested by supervisor.
  • Attend events that engage community involvement in homeownership in low to moderate income areas and low to moderate income borrowers.
  • Generate loan applications through self-generation and referral relationships.
  • Maintain 85% customer satisfaction rating with borrowers with minimum response benchmark.
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping loan information confidential.

Requirements

  • General understanding of the mortgage business, sales, and office environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Positive attitude and pleasant interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy in details.
  • Business writing skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand English and Spanish language to communicate with customers, co-workers or supervisors.
  • Ability to set and meet priorities.
  • Knowledge of financial statements and tax return forms.
  • Computer skills for word processing and databases.
  • Strong telephone communication skills.
  • Knowledge of documents needed for mortgage or various consumer type loans.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor for interaction with public.
  • Ability to maintain good conversational skills.
  • Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, regulations, forms, departments, and products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Degree in financial, sales, marketing, or business fields preferred.
  • 3-5 years sales experience preferred.
  • Mortgage Loan Officer license preferred (NMLS #).
