The Community Nutrition Project Coordinator will serve as a vital member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County, focusing on delivering nutrition education aimed at improving healthy food and lifestyle choices. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, primarily centered around the Community Nutrition Education program and the Nassau County Office for the Aging senior grant. The coordinator will engage with participants across all age groups, including adults, seniors, and youth, throughout Nassau County. The educational programming will cover various topics such as general nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and food budgeting. In addition to delivering educational content, the coordinator will be responsible for recruiting participants and promoting programs through outreach efforts and social media engagement. The role also involves the collection and management of participant data, ensuring confidentiality at all times, and assisting in the development of program content. Building and maintaining relationships with community agencies is crucial, as is participating in ongoing in-service education and staff meetings.
