About the position

The Community Outreach & Engagement Manager will provide strategic leadership and execute community engagement initiatives that align with the Civic Center Foundation's (CCF) mission, vision, and values. This role is responsible for designing, organizing, and leading outreach programs to attract and inspire a diverse array of stakeholders, including students, educators, parents, community members, and other patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate an environment that supports artists, students, parents, educators, and community members, fostering exploration of the creative process with audiences of all ages and developing programs to support such.
  • Build strategic partnerships with schools and institutional partners to strengthen CCF's role in the performing arts, upholding CCF's brand and vision for community engagement.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the annual Kelli O'Hara Awards, a regional preliminary competition for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards celebrating excellence in high school performing arts.
  • Assess and refine education and community engagement programs to foster performing arts initiatives in the community.
  • Develop strategies to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders in education and community engagement, including board members, staff, audiences, program participants, and institutional partners.
  • Remain informed on current practices in arts education, community engagement, and performing arts through regular attendance at performances.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Director of Marketing & Sales to support donor relations and develop funding opportunities to expand CCF's education and community engagement programs.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture by supporting other departments and fostering inclusive, cross-functional partnerships in pursuit of CCF's mission and commitment to equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in community engagement or program development preferred.
  • Ability to co-create mutually beneficial relationships with community partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, artists, and community members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting persuasive proposals, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for promoting arts access and cultural enrichment.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to effectively plan and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, volunteers, partner organizations, and the public.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, conditions, and program needs.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Proficiency with general computer software to access, interpret, report, and record information.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
