About the position

The Community Outreach Specialist will play a vital role in engaging with the community to promote the organization's mission and services. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for community engagement, focusing on building relationships with diverse populations and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach activities to engage with the community and promote awareness of the organization's mission.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase visibility and participation in programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate outreach events and initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and volunteers.
• Provide support in program development and implementation.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local hospitals, clinics, schools, government agencies, and healthcare providers to ensure a seamless referral process for individuals seeking mental health support.
• Work closely with social workers and community organizations to identify individuals in need of mental health services and assist in connecting them to appropriate resources.
• Deliver engaging presentations at public speaking engagements to raise awareness about the services offered.

Requirements

• Experience in recruiting and public speaking.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Knowledge of program development and volunteer management practices.
• Familiarity with addiction counseling or fundraising is a plus.
• The ability to quickly assess a new environment and identify its strengths.
• The ability to form strong relationships with consumers and get to know the target audience.
• Ability to navigate various markets and tailor outreach strategies accordingly.
