Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Imperial Beach Community Clinic services, provider staff, and funding programs.
• Identify and research outreach locations for presentations.
• Liaise with community agencies to develop an outreach calendar.
• Achieve financial results through the implementation of the outreach plan.
• Provide outreach presentations and distribute patient recruitment materials at community locations.
• Engage community members at outreach events.
• Document interactions with community members.
• Counsel community members on healthcare options, including health insurance screenings.
• Inform community members about health insurance programs for low-income individuals.
• Refer community members to Enrollment specialists and assist in making appointments.
• Utilize a database system to enter and track outreach activities.
• Attend conferences as required.
• Refer individuals to Imperial Beach Health Center for necessary medical services and assist in appointment scheduling.
• Establish a communication network in the local community and represent the health center through presentations.
• Maintain appropriate logs of all activities.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the local community and social connections in Imperial Beach and South San Diego.
• Ability to provide services on weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
• Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish preferred.
• Cultural competency.
• Ability to maintain accurate and complete written logs of all activities.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently.
• Comfortable speaking to groups and meeting new people.
• Professional representation of oneself and Imperial Beach Health Center.
