About the position

The Community Practice Coordinator at the Wilma Theater is responsible for evolving the Portable Studio Programming, expanding outreach to connect audiences with accessibility services, and assisting in the implementation of the Accessible Productions Initiative (API Program). This part-time, temporary role focuses on project management, community engagement, and administrative support, funded by a grant through July 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage 2-3 Portable Studio Residencies throughout the year.
  • Assist the Director of Education & Community Practice with coordination and implementation of the API program.
  • Administer and reconcile the budget for Portable Studio and Community Practice programs as needed.
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools to track data and measure the impact of programming.
  • Lead outreach to communities for audio description, open captioning, and relaxed performance services.
  • Attend and supervise all relaxed performances, reflecting on and modifying current practices.
  • Foster and cultivate community relationships in collaboration with the Marketing Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field(s).
  • 3-5 years of experience in community engagement or related field(s).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for and experience with leading work that is intentionally Anti-Racist, Anti-Homophobic, Anti-Xenophobic, Anti-Ableist.
  • Experience with Project Management, including scheduling and contracting employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Sharepoint, Google Drive, Docusign.
