About the position

As a Community Program Coordinator at Project Access, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of residents in affordable housing communities. This position is centered around the development, implementation, and coordination of programs and services that cater to a diverse population, including youth, adults, and seniors. Your primary focus will be to create impactful programs that foster self-sufficiency and community engagement. You will work independently, demonstrating a proactive approach in a role that requires a high degree of autonomy and accountability. The Resource Center, where you will be based, is located on the grounds of the apartment community, allowing for direct interaction with residents and a deeper understanding of their needs. In this role, you will implement core programs across four key initiatives: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building. You will coordinate after-school and teen programs, ensuring that educational enrichment activities are effectively planned and executed. Building partnerships with local service providers will be essential for delivering workshops and services that benefit residents. Additionally, you will facilitate community-building events that promote safety and connection among residents, while also providing them with information and referrals to access necessary resources. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining strong relationships with the property management team, publishing monthly newsletters to keep residents informed, and collecting program outcomes data to evaluate the effectiveness of the initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about community service and has the skills to manage multiple tasks while fostering a supportive environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Implement core programs and services across four initiatives: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building.
  • Coordinate and oversee an after-school program and teen program, including homework assistance and educational enrichment activities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers to deliver services and workshops.
  • Plan and facilitate community-building events throughout the year to promote safe communities and strong connections among residents.
  • Provide residents with information and referrals to access community resources and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the property management team.
  • Publish monthly newsletters including calendars of events for distribution to residents.
  • Develop and maintain a resource directory of local service providers.
  • Collect and submit program outcomes data, including monthly program attendance and evaluation reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field, or four years of social service experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of one year experience in after-school programs or educational settings for youth.
  • Minimum of one year experience serving diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and community awareness.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook). Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, and Concur.
  • Strong time management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter, multi-tasker, and strong communicator.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with community outreach and engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with local resources and services available to residents.
  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to the community served.
