About the position

The Community Recovery Manager (CRM) for the Hurricane Helene and Milton Long-Term Recovery Operation at the American Red Cross is responsible for leading recovery efforts in North Florida following the impact of two major hurricanes. This role involves engaging with local communities, managing relationships with partner organizations, and ensuring that recovery services reach all affected populations, particularly vulnerable and underserved communities. The CRM will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to build local capacity for disaster recovery and will report to the Senior Manager of Community Recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the American Red Cross is engaged with all Long-Term Recovery Groups post-disaster within a defined territory and participate in LTRG meetings.
  • Liaise with voluntary, faith-based, and community-based organizations for post-disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure that community efforts and Red Cross services reach all affected populations, especially vulnerable and underserved communities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to Community Disaster Program Managers and Specialists on client needs and recovery activities.
  • Support provision of assistance to individuals and households with unmet needs and barriers to recovery.
  • Liaise with National Headquarters Long-Term Recovery partners to ensure consistency in service delivery.
  • Build and manage a team of community recovery volunteers to execute community engagement strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating presentations and developing training modules.
  • Proven track record of collaboration, facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management.
  • Ability for planning, public speaking, project management, and process improvement.
