About the position

The Community Recovery Technical Assistance Specialist at Chestnut Health Systems plays a crucial role in supporting the Statewide Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Project. This position involves developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating recovery support programs and community trainings within the service areas, primarily focusing on the city of Chicago and Cook County. The specialist will work in a hybrid environment, requiring travel within the service area and the state, and will be responsible for mentoring staff and interns while promoting a culture of recovery and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance for Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) projects in developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating programs.
  • Assist and advise ROSC councils in developing evidence-based programs and practices.
  • Monitor ROSC lead agency's project deliverables, ensuring timeliness and adherence to outcome measures.
  • Review and provide feedback on grant deliverables as agreed upon with the supervisor.
  • Communicate regularly with ROSC council leadership regarding deliverables and available resources.
  • Participate in local ROSC council meetings and conduct assessments of leadership training needs.
  • Develop and implement trainings for ROSC councils based on identified needs and current research.
  • Provide program/grant reports in a timely manner.
  • Mentor and train staff and interns consistently.
  • Participate in advocacy groups related to recovery supports.
  • Fulfill agency and funder responsibilities, including staff development and participation in meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in behavioral health, public health, education, or related field with a minimum of 2 years related experience; or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of recovery, program development, needs assessment/evaluation, and community capacity building.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom, and online reporting systems.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable vehicle.
