About the position

We are hiring a Community Relations Manager who will develop strategies designed to favorably represent the company and make positive contributions to the community. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key external stakeholders, community organizations, and business groups within Global Partners' footprint. The Community Relations Manager will provide guidance to internal business partners on local political activity and community issues that may impact state and federal government relations. Additionally, the Manager will supervise Community Relations Specialist(s). This position is based in our Waltham, MA office. For 75 years and counting, Global Partners has created a dependable, cost-effective, and reliable source of energy for our customers. We have successfully developed community-integrated convenience stores where we are transforming the customer experience and rethinking what it means to lead as an adaptive energy distribution company. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders.
  • Educate the company on community viewpoints to help accomplish business objectives and ensure the company is best positioned to receive favorable support from municipalities and communities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for various government officials, business leaders, and community organizations.
  • Attend community events, fundraisers, and industry seminars.
  • Facilitate planning and implementation of events and other activities.
  • Ensure timely and effective communications with municipal leaders on permitting and/or maintenance activities.
  • Identify corporate giving opportunities within assigned territory and at regional and statewide levels.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally with relevant departments within the company.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Experience building community outreach programs.
  • Availability to attend community meetings or events outside of regular business hours.
  • Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate company positions to various audiences.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
