About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Relationship Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, customer service, and community engagement. The Community Relationship Manager will be responsible for helping to generate brand awareness and build relationships with individuals, organizations, corporations, and businesses across Lake County who will become donors and/or community partners. The successful applicant will be passionate about the Keeping Families Covered mission and focused on short-term successes that achieve long-term outcomes. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and organizational skills. The role involves serving as the key contact and on-site attendee for private and public events, such as diaper/period supply drives, corporate volunteer events, resource fairs, and community outreach events. The Community Relationship Manager will identify organizations and events that would be beneficial for Keeping Families Covered to attend and/or support for positive brand association and exposure. They will also identify key individuals, organizations, corporations, and businesses to participate in signature annual drives and fundraisers. Additionally, the Community Relationship Manager will attend local community, networking, and outreach/engagement events as a representative of the organization. They will coordinate and execute events that align with the relationship goals of the organization, seek in-kind donations for raffles and silent auctions, and develop relationships that convert to ongoing support such as large event sponsorships and regular annual donations. The role also includes taking photos for the organization's newsletter and social media, assisting with coordinating volunteers, and managing on-site Packing Parties and Saturday Service Days in Lake County.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the key contact and on-site attendee for private and public events, such as diaper/period supply drives, corporate volunteer events, resource fairs, community outreach, events, etc.
  • Identifying organizations and events that would be beneficial for Keeping Families Covered to attend and/or support for positive brand association and exposure.
  • Identifying key individuals, organizations, corporations, and businesses to participate in signature annual drives and fundraisers.
  • Attending local community, networking, and outreach/engagement events as a representative of the organization.
  • Coordinating and executing events that are in strategic alignment with the relationship goals of the organization.
  • Seeking in-kind donations from individuals, organizations, corporations, and businesses that support raffles and silent auctions for our signature annual fundraisers as well as smaller events.
  • Developing relationships with individuals, organizations, corporations, and businesses that will convert to ongoing, consistent support (large event sponsorships, regular annual donations, grant funding opportunities).
  • Taking photos that can be used for the organization's newsletter and social media posts for Lake County news and events.
  • Assisting with coordinating Lake County location volunteers.
  • Coordinating and managing on-site Packing Parties (1 per month) and Saturday Service Days (1 per month) in Lake County.
  • Serving as the Lake County representative on the organization's Events Committee.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in community engagement or a related field.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on phone and email etiquette.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with Google Tools (Drive, Sheets, Forms) and CRM tools (Bloomerang).
  • Comfortable using internet and social media tools to conduct research relevant to the role.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone and/or digital camera to take, and share, event photos.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to drive within a 35 mile radius for events.
  • A commitment to professionalism and customer/community satisfaction.
