About the position

The Community Resources Developer at North Bay Regional Center plays a crucial role in promoting the integration and participation of individuals with developmental disabilities within their local communities. This position involves consulting on resource development, coordinating community service delivery, and assessing the needs for additional services. The developer will work under the direction of the Community Resource Supervisor to stimulate the creation of new community resources and improve existing services, ensuring that individuals with developmental disabilities have access to the support they need to live independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation in the development of resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Encourage communication and coordination among community service delivery systems.
  • Assess needs for additional services and improvements to existing services.
  • Stimulate the development of new community resources for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Promote coordination of efforts within the existing service delivery system.
  • Provide information about Regional Center services to interested persons.
  • Identify and resolve conflicting community program policies and practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments, vendor solicitation, and program design consultation.
  • Provide training for NBRC staff and community constituents as required.
  • Develop and monitor residential programs and support services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in education, special education, social work, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, including community organization, program planning, or program evaluation.
  • Alternatively, two years of experience as a Service Coordinator at North Bay Regional Center with relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master's Degree.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in community organization or program evaluation.
