About the position

The Community Resources Developer at North Bay Regional Center plays a crucial role in promoting the full integration and participation of individuals with developmental disabilities within their local communities. This position involves consulting on resource development, assessing community needs, and coordinating efforts among various service delivery systems to enhance the quality and availability of services for clients. The developer will also engage in program evaluation, training, and community outreach to ensure effective service delivery and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation in the development of resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Encourage communication and coordination among community service delivery systems.
  • Assess needs for additional services and improvements to existing services.
  • Stimulate the development of new community resources for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Provide information about Regional Center services to interested parties.
  • Evaluate and consult with community agencies regarding service delivery and program policies.
  • Conduct needs assessments and vendor solicitations for new and existing programs.
  • Provide training for NBRC staff and community members as required.
  • Assist with public information activities and grant applications.
  • Develop and monitor residential programs and support services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in education, special education, social work, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, including community organization, program planning, or program evaluation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master's Degree.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are strongly preferred.
