In this position, the Community Retail Manager will establish a strong presence in the communities served by 3Rivers, developing effective relationships with local businesses and networking leads. The manager will work to deepen existing member relationships and explore new opportunities through financial wellness conversations. By uncovering the financial needs of members, the manager will recommend and sell appropriate products and services, maximizing the profitability of each member's relationship with the credit union. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Community Retail Manager will routinely partner with community organizations and branch teams to ensure consistent communication and timely service delivery. The manager will engage with the local community to generate leads, deepen member engagement, and enhance the overall member experience. This position also plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, thereby maintaining the credit union's viability and reputation in the community. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible, capable of handling the ever-changing needs of the community and members in a sometimes stressful environment. Strong leadership, coaching skills, and the ability to make productive decisions are essential for achieving service level standards and fostering a positive corporate culture at 3Rivers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a presence in the communities served by developing effective relationships with business resources and networking leads.
  • Strengthen and deepen relationships within the communities represented.
  • Broaden and deepen existing member relationships and explore new opportunities through financial wellness conversations.
  • Uncover Money Matter needs, recommend and sell appropriate products and services to maximize the profitability of the member's relationship.
  • Combine service experience with business needs to blend sales and service effectively.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and resource centers to ensure consistent communication and timely service delivery.
  • Partner with branch teams to provide development and support as a touch point for members.
  • Engage in the local community to generate leads and produce new members.
  • Deepen member engagement, increase wallet share, and promote self-service activity usage.
  • Provide a positive sales and service experience, ensuring effective and timely service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in relationship building and outside sales calling required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in consumer/retail lending required.
  • Strong community presence and successful history of developing long-term relationships with local businesses.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills and a positive, optimistic outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending and understanding of commercial lending and underwriting of loans.
  • Consistent history of successful production in sales.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with management, peers, employees, and vendors.
  • Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
