About the position

The Community Services Associate Manager at United Way of the Plains plays a crucial role in managing the Give Items of Value (GIV) warehouse, which provides in-kind donations to nonprofits. This position involves overseeing warehouse operations, coordinating volunteer efforts, and ensuring that nonprofits can access essential goods to support their missions. The role also contributes to disaster response services and requires strong relationship-building skills to engage with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the organization of merchandise located in the warehouse.
  • Coordinate volunteer groups and assist with merchandise pick-up.
  • Promote and coordinate appointments for not-for-profit agencies to visit the warehouse and request donated items.
  • Oversee warehouse operations in the absence of the Director of Community Services.
  • Assist the Director of Community Services with emergency management response.

Requirements

  • 1 year of prior warehouse job experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a box truck, pallet jack, and forklift.
  • OSHA-10, OSHA-30, and forklift certification (training provided if needed).
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Proficiency in using computers, including MS Office and inventory management systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong relationship and team-building skills.
  • Proven critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of working effectively with limited supervision.
