About the position

As a Community Support Specialist at Burrell Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in providing support and activities to clients through an organized treatment plan aimed at facilitating their immediate and ongoing adjustment to community living. This position requires you to work in various community settings, including clients' homes, clinics, and other locations as part of your assigned caseload. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is passionate about promoting recovery and enhancing resiliency among clients. You should have experience with evidence-based interventions and possess strong communication and collaboration skills. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. This includes conducting assessments, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions. You will collaborate closely with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to create and execute individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs. Utilizing strengths-based and evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will be essential in your daily activities. Additionally, you will coordinate care with other providers, including physicians and schools, to ensure comprehensive support for your clients. Maintaining accurate client records and documentation is a critical aspect of this position, as is participating in staff training and development activities. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and work collaboratively with team members to ensure coordinated client care. Facilitating group therapy sessions and developing relationships with stakeholders involved in the client's care will be part of your responsibilities as well. Knowledge of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model may be required for some roles within this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Utilize strengths-based, evidence-based approaches like Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, etc.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate care with other providers like physicians, schools, organizations.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Participate in staff training and development activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members for coordinated client care.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders involved in client's care.
  • Prepare for and facilitate group therapy sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, human services field or equivalent experience.
  • Background check, training, valid driver's license, reliable transportation required.
  • Specific skills/knowledge in case management, mental health, substance use, documentation, etc.
  • 4 years qualifying experience in mental health/substance use services delivery.
