About the position

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is actively seeking an energetic and motivated Children's MAP Team Specialist to coordinate MAP teams across 18 counties. The Children's MAP Team Specialist is located in Hattiesburg, MS. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the MAP team, which addresses the needs of children and youth, from birth up to twenty-one years, who are experiencing serious emotional and behavioral disorders. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think independently, determine the direction of workflow, and manage multiple projects to ensure timely completion. The Making A Plan (MAP) Teams are designed to provide comprehensive support to children and youth who require services from multiple agency providers and service systems. This role is crucial in diverting these individuals from inappropriate institutional placements, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support within their communities. Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has been serving individuals throughout the Pine Belt for 50 years, striving to enable those with serious mental illnesses, emotional disturbances, and developmental disabilities to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. The Children's MAP Team Specialist will be responsible for managing MAP teams across the extensive service area, which includes 18 counties such as Amite, Franklin, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, and others. This position requires a proactive approach to building relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and outcomes for children and youth in need.

Responsibilities

  • Manages MAP teams across 18 counties of the PBMHR service area.
  • Tracks outcomes for Children's Services and completes reports.
  • Co-leads all MAP team meetings.
  • Coordinates with Department of Mental Health (DMH) representatives.
  • Attends meetings in the community to build relationships/teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral healthcare required
  • Mental Health experience preferred
  • Community behavioral healthcare experience required
  • Valid MS driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Reliable Transportation to provide services in the community
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format
