Come as you are and achieve better lives as part of the St. Louis Arc family of individuals in this vital role as a Community Support Specialist ($20/hour, with $1 increase after 90 days) for our Chesterfield Day Center. This is a full-time (32.5 hours/week) Monday - Friday position working 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. In this role, you will teach skills that increase adults' independence, self-esteem, and participation out in the community. You will assist one to four participants in planning a meaningful day that matches their interests and goals. Engaging in activities out in the community (e.g., local park, baseball game) and at the Day Center (e.g., music therapy, arts and crafts) will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will transport individuals to and from activities in the St. Louis metropolitan area and assist participants with personal care, including restroom, meals, and dressing. It is essential to maintain an understanding of participants' Individual Support Plans and implementation practices. You will also be responsible for completing community events reports, medication administration records, progress notes, and other required documentation according to agency and funder timelines.
