About the position

The Recovery Center of Ohio is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Outreach Specialist to join our mission of making resources accessible to those in need, particularly individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. This role is pivotal in increasing awareness of our services, fostering community partnerships, and attending community events to promote our mission. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, trauma-informed care principles, and a genuine enthusiasm for making a significant impact on the lives of individuals seeking support and recovery. This position is crucial in driving community engagement and generating referrals, ensuring that our comprehensive care reaches those in need. As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will represent The Recovery Center of Ohio at various community events, health fairs, and other relevant gatherings. You will identify and participate in community initiatives and events that align with our mission, building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders. Your outreach efforts will include providing information about our programs and services to community members and potential clients, conducting presentations and workshops to educate the public about substance use disorders and available resources. In addition to community engagement, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and other relevant entities. Collaborating with partners will be essential to create a holistic system of care for individuals with substance use disorders. You will also track outreach activities and outcomes, including the number of events attended, partnerships developed, and referrals generated, providing regular reports on outreach activities and their impact. Identifying opportunities to generate referrals to The Recovery Center of Ohio and following up with individuals and organizations interested in our programs and services will be key components of your role.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Recovery Center of Ohio at community events, health fairs, and other relevant gatherings.

Requirements

• Experience in community outreach, public relations, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for helping individuals with substance use disorders and promoting community health.

Nice-to-haves

• Graphic design capabilities for digital marketing are a plus but not required.

Benefits

• Hourly compensation starting at $17 per hour.
