About the position
The Community Support Specialist (CSS) position focuses on assisting individuals with dual diagnoses in developing essential life skills, accessing necessary resources, and managing their illnesses effectively. The role emphasizes promoting self-sufficiency and independence through direct and indirect services tailored to the needs of each individual.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily, direct, and indirect services to an assigned caseload.
- Assist individuals with daily living skills and educate them about their diagnosis and treatment.
- Help clients access services and resources, including financial, medical, and housing assistance.
- Monitor client care by documenting all related activities in a timely manner.
- Keep the supervisor informed of clinical consults, critical incidents, and crises.
- Maintain an organized work environment with proper time management and chart compliance.
- Encourage and monitor attendance at appointments, including therapy and medication services.
- Promote recovery, independence, self-care, and responsibility by developing natural supports within the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or other mental health field preferred.
