About the position

The Community Support Specialist at Conifer Realty LLC is responsible for managing compliance administration for affordable housing programs, including new leases, lease renewals, recertifications, and move-ins/move-outs. This full-time position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with community managers and regional managers to minimize vacancies and promote positive resident relations. The role is based primarily in Maryland and offers opportunities for career growth within a dynamic organization dedicated to affordable housing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance administration for housing programs including new leases, lease renewals, and recertifications.
  • Assist with move-ins and move-outs, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Provide support and backup for Community Managers and Regional Managers.
  • Prepare weekly vacancy reports and work to minimize vacancies.
  • Promote good working relationships with residents and community representatives.
  • Perform clerical duties as required to support the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of apartment rental/housing management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
  • Minimum 1+ years of compliance experience with Low Income Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD - Section 8, and HOME programs.
  • Experience with recertifications and lease-ups preferred.
  • 1-2+ years of team supervision experience including coaching and performance management skills.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager or other housing software programs is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with lease-ups preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) helpful.
