About the position

The Community Support Specialist (CSS) at Clear Path for Veterans New England is dedicated to providing one-on-one support to Veterans, helping them achieve greater independence through meaningful engagement and community connections. This role is crucial in empowering Veterans by facilitating their participation in various activities and appointments, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the Veteran to occupational therapy appointments and other essential outings.
• Encourage and participate in recreational activities (e.g., bowling, outdoor outings).
• Assist in planning mutually enjoyable and enriching activities.
• Submit a monthly report by the 5th of each month detailing activities, goals, and key engagements, with documentation of mileage and receipts for incidentals.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Background in social work or experience working with Veterans is helpful but not required.
• Flexible availability, including both daytime and evening hours.
