About the position

As a Community Support Specialist at thirdweb, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our technical support presence and fostering a vibrant community within the web3 ecosystem. This part-time position requires you to collaborate closely with a small team of community managers and receive support from the engineering team to ensure that developers have an excellent experience while building with thirdweb. Your primary focus will be on creating a welcoming environment for all community members, including those who are not yet engaged with our platform. You will be responsible for actively monitoring our social channels, including Discord, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn, ensuring that you are always in tune with community needs and concerns. Your role will involve responding to inquiries, providing technical support for code-related issues, and creating technical content to address common troubleshooting problems. Additionally, you will participate in community events such as AMAs and workshops, showcasing your leadership and collaborative spirit. In this position, you will also manage and operate Discord bots and automated features to enhance the overall experience for community members. A key aspect of your role will be to represent the voice of the community to our engineering and product teams, advocating for features and content that will help our users succeed. Your attention to detail and ownership mindset will be crucial as you navigate the challenges of community support in the fast-paced web3 environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a welcoming environment for all community members and the greater web3 ecosystem.
  • Monitor social channels including Discord, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Respond to questions and concerns directly or alongside the community team.
  • Provide technical support for code-related issues.
  • Create technical content to address repeatable troubleshooting issues.
  • Participate in community events such as AMAs and workshops.
  • Lead by example with ownership, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Manage and operate Discord bots and automated features to improve member experience.
  • Represent the voice of the community to engineering and product teams.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of code including Typescript, React, and Solidity.
  • Experience building with one or more of our SDKs.
  • Strong writing, speaking, and communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Proven self-starter and problem solver with an ownership mindset.
  • Experience working with and moderating online communities.
  • Highly organized with a passion for teaching.
  • Crypto-curious and fluent in web3.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer-facing support role.
  • Experience leading technical workshops.
  • Familiarity with Python, Unity, or Go languages.
  • Ability to create and share memes.
