About the position

The Community Support Specialist Supervisor II (CS Supervisor II) at Freeman Health System is a vital role for qualified mental health professionals (QMHP) dedicated to delivering clinical support services through a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. This position is responsible for ensuring that all services provided meet the established standards of care as dictated by the Ozark Center, as well as adhering to State and Federal regulations. The CS Supervisor II plays a crucial role in assessing, planning, developing, and coordinating recovery services aimed at promoting the highest level of independence for each client served. In addition to direct service delivery, the CS Supervisor II is tasked with the training and supervision of staff, including Community Support Specialists and certified peer specialists. This role requires a strong emphasis on teaching staff to deliver services that meet the highest standards of care. The CS Supervisor II will also be responsible for overseeing the work of CS Supervisor I and other clinical staff as assigned, ensuring that all team members are equipped to provide effective support to clients. Reporting directly to the Director of Adult Community Services, the CS Supervisor II is expected to maintain a collaborative relationship with treatment team members and other programs to facilitate clients' recovery goals effectively. The CS Supervisor II must also ensure that billing and productivity expectations are met or exceeded, manage client needs efficiently, and provide necessary training and support to both internal and community referral sources. This position requires a commitment to compliance with all training and documentation requirements, ensuring that all staff meet the quality standards set by relevant regulatory bodies. The CS Supervisor II will also serve as a backup for assigned staff when necessary, demonstrating flexibility and expertise in various situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision, oversight, and training with assigned staff (including community support specialists and/or certified peer specialists) both individually and in teams.
  • Effectively prioritizes and assists with management of client needs and support, to include that referrals/screenings, psychiatric and medical treatment and crisis intervention services are provided.
  • Ensures billing and productivity expectations are met or exceeded for self and assigned staff as established by the Program Director.
  • Collaborates effectively with treatment team members and programs to support clients in achieving their chosen recovery goals.
  • Provides efficient assistance, support and training to internal and community referral sources to ensure client referrals into services are accurate and managed timely.
  • Ensures self and assigned staff completes and submits all required/requested training and HR compliance documents within timelines.
  • Ensures self and assigned staff complete all required documentation within established timeframes and according to quality standards set by State and Federal regulations, CARF certifications, and program expectations.
  • Serves as back-up to assigned staff when these staff are unavailable (due to being with other clients, sickness, vacation, etc.) and/or in need of additional expertise.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification or equivalent experience in mental health services.
  • Experience in supervising and training staff in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and client needs effectively.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding mental health services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with billing and productivity management in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with CARF certification standards.
  • Previous experience in community support services.
