About the position

As a Community Support Specialist at Burrell Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in providing support and activities to clients through an organized treatment plan aimed at facilitating their immediate and ongoing adjustment to community living. This position involves working directly in the community, which includes visiting clients in their homes, clinics, and various locations throughout the area as part of your assigned caseload. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is deeply passionate about promoting recovery and enhancing resilience among clients. You should have experience with evidence-based interventions and possess strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with clients and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering community-based mental health services to a diverse population, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your responsibilities will encompass assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and the implementation of interventions tailored to each client's unique needs. You will collaborate closely with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to develop and execute individualized treatment plans that leverage strengths-based and evidence-based approaches, such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Additionally, you will coordinate care with other providers, including physicians, schools, and community organizations, ensuring a holistic approach to client care. Maintaining accurate client records and documentation is essential, as is participating in staff training and development activities to enhance your skills and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to facilitate group therapy sessions and develop relationships with stakeholders involved in the care of your clients. Knowledge of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model may be required for certain roles within this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Utilize strengths-based, evidence-based approaches like Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, etc.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate care with other providers like physicians, schools, organizations.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Participate in staff training and development activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members for coordinated client care.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders involved in client's care.
  • Prepare for and facilitate group therapy sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field or equivalent experience.
  • Background check, training, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation required.
  • Specific skills/knowledge in case management, mental health, substance use, and documentation.
  • 4 years of qualifying experience in mental health/substance use services delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with evidence-based interventions.
  • Knowledge of the ACT model for some roles.
