About the position

The Community Support Specialist at Chestnut Health Systems plays a crucial role in providing support and advocacy to individuals accessing mental health services. This position focuses on helping others through education, encouragement, and building strong relationships with clients and the local community, all while promoting a recovery-oriented model of treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment/recovery/safety plans.
• Promote the recovery model of treatment, including trauma-informed care, by empowering consumers and utilizing recovery language.
• Facilitate referrals, linkages, and advocacy to community resources, including hospitals, community agencies, court systems, and more.
• Foster positive interactions within Chestnut and the community.
• Provide services in settings where clients feel most comfortable, like their homes or community spaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, education, psychology, or related field.
• Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) a plus.
• A valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn/use electronic medical records (EMR).
