The Community Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and coordination for various activities of daily living. This position is focused on empowering clients to maintain their independence and engage fully in their communities. The specialist works one-on-one with clients, assisting them in areas such as community participation, hobbies, recreational activities, and vocational training. Additionally, the role includes support for banking and budgeting, health safety and wellness, household management, and the development of adaptive living skills. It is important to note that this position is not associated with a residential group home setting, emphasizing the focus on community integration and individual empowerment. The Community Support Specialist is expected to work flexible hours, primarily during late afternoons and evenings, making it suitable for part-time employment. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $21.00, depending on experience, along with mileage reimbursement and referral bonuses. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including community participation and recreational activities.
• Support clients in banking and budgeting tasks.
• Facilitate vocational training and job searches for clients.

• Help clients with household management and adaptive living skills.
• Encourage and assist clients in maintaining independence in their daily lives.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Have a reliable vehicle and current auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a background check through the MN Dept. of Human Services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Comfortable and confident working independently without direct supervision.
