About the position

The Community Support Specialist (CSS) position at Ozark Center is a full-time role dedicated to providing essential case management services for CSTAR clients across all New Directions' treatment locations. This position operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM and is integral in promoting client independence and self-sufficiency. The CSS will work closely with individuals affected by various behavioral health issues, understanding that many clients may have experienced trauma that impacts their development and adjustment. In this role, the CSS will be trained in trauma-informed care services, ensuring that they can create a sensitive and responsive environment that helps prevent further trauma for clients. The responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing individualized service plans, and connecting clients with community resources that extend beyond the program. The CSS will also monitor client progress and adjust services as necessary to support their journey towards recovery and independence. Candidates for this position must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of four years of mental health experience, or an Associate's Degree with two years of mental health experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. While not mandatory, one year of experience working with substance use disorders and/or within the legal system is preferred. Additionally, a Class E Driver's License in Missouri or an equivalent license from the employee's state of residence is required, along with active car insurance.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 2 years of mental health experience.

  • Class E Driver's License in MO or equivalent in employee's state of residence with active car insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of experience working with substance use disorders and/or legal system field.
