About the position

The Community and Vocational Services Floater (DSP) position at Lifetime Assistance, Inc. is a full-time role dedicated to providing essential support and training to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This position plays a crucial role in the Community Services and Vocational Services programs, which include Community Hab, Prevocational, Employment Training Program (ETP), and Supported Employment. The primary objective of these programs is to empower individuals by offering supervision, education, vocational skills training, and life skills training, thereby promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. As a Floater, the individual will be required to familiarize themselves with each program and provide services as assigned. This may involve working directly with clients to implement the services outlined in their Staff Action Plans. The role demands a compassionate approach, as the Floater will be responsible for overseeing and assisting individuals in various settings, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive. The position requires flexibility in hours, as the schedule may vary based on the needs of the program, and the Floater must be prepared to adapt to different environments and client needs. Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and direct assistance to individuals enrolled in Community Services and Vocational Services programs.
  • Implement services as outlined in the Staff Action Plan for each client.
  • Familiarize oneself with each program to provide effective support where assigned.
  • Assist in vocational skills training and life skills training for individuals receiving services.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during program activities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree and one year of related experience; or High school diploma or equivalent and three years of related (pre)vocational and/or human services experience.
  • Ability to meet LAI's Vehicle Operator Requirements.
  • Clearance check from New York State Child Abuse Registry may be required.
