About the position

The Compensation/Benefit Specialist is responsible for managing the wage and salary program, overseeing ACA compliance, and conducting compensation and benefit analysis for North Oaks Health System. This role serves as a primary contact for employees and vendors regarding benefit programs, ensuring effective communication and compliance with regulations. The specialist will also assist in the administration of employee benefits, conduct audits, and support the Compensation & Benefits Director in various tasks related to compensation and benefits management.

Responsibilities

  • Contact for employees and vendor representatives regarding North Oaks Health System benefit programs as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with employees via letters, telephone and publications regarding benefit programs as needed.
  • Monitor bi-weekly employer contributions to the 401a plan for the IRS compensation limit.
  • Act as an Accounts Payable Traffic Cop for benefit plan and garnishment invoices.
  • Assist Compensation and Benefits Director with Employee Benefit Program bids.
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of stop loss payments.
  • Maintain a monthly summary of Medical and Dental claims paid.
  • Assist Compensation & Benefits Director with Affordable Care Act (ACA) Administration.
  • Complete CMS Creditable Disclosure.
  • Maintain records on benefit programs.
  • Assist with the annual enrollment period for North Oaks Health System benefit programs.
  • Assist with annual Employee Benefit Fair.
  • Assist Lead HRIS Analyst with developing annual enrollment processes in Infor.
  • Prepare a budget spreadsheet for the Finance Department to report stop loss, ACA, and medical/dental administrative fees.
  • Conduct benefit program audits for compliance with plan documents.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and requirements affecting hospital benefits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources or accounting/auditing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, accounting or relevant business-related field required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Products including Excel, Word and Access is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with S3 software is preferred.
