This position involves a base salary plus commission, with the option of a guarantee for the first year. The role focuses on prospecting, developing sales, and delivering various Compact Construction Equipment and tree service equipment.
Responsibilities
Promote, sell, and rent John Deere Compact Construction Equipment and other related machinery.
Communicate with current and new prospects for sales; plan sales calls and make presentations.
Quote and negotiate prices and credit terms, prepare contracts, and monitor accounts.
Execute Tow and Show presentations of equipment to prospective customers using company truck and trailer.
Maintain product knowledge and provide excellent customer service and technical assistance as needed.
Build relationships with customers and prospects to increase brand recognition.
Attend and present at demonstrations, open house programs, exhibits, and industry meetings.
Maintain sales management information and prepare reports on business trends and call activity.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Senior Management.
Requirements
Minimum of 1-year sales experience in construction equipment and/or agricultural equipment.
Knowledge of construction machine operation and application with the ability to demonstrate key product features and benefits to customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer relationship skills with the ability to satisfactorily resolve customer concerns.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Agriculture-related or Construction-related field preferred.
Valid CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) and clean driving record required.
