About the position

The Companion Animal Territory Manager is responsible for engaging with veterinary clinics, shelters, and corporate accounts within the Metro East, Illinois territory. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, promoting the Companion Animal product portfolio, and driving sales growth through strategic customer interactions and collaboration with field sales teams. The position emphasizes customer-centric solutions and the delivery of value through technical innovations in animal health.

Responsibilities

  • Interact face to face with customers to understand their needs and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, meeting with key personnel to understand their business models and identify opportunities.
  • Develop customer strategies that outline interaction plans and potential offerings to drive sales growth.
  • Create territory and account plans for key customers, collaborating with National Account Managers and Distribution Field Partners.
  • Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines.
  • Identify and select programs/services to address customer needs and provide education and training opportunities.
  • Work with leadership to develop and deliver relevant offerings that meet customer needs.
  • Stay informed about Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitor landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required (pending degrees considered if completed before starting).
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated motivation and focus on achieving measurable results.
  • Commitment to collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Ability to understand evolving customer needs and drive results accordingly.
  • Effective application of selling techniques across multiple accounts.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sales experience within the Animal Health Industry.
  • Knowledge of animal health biological and pharmaceutical products.
  • Understanding or prior experience working with distribution.
  • Multi-lingual fluency, particularly in Spanish.
