About the position

The Direct Support Professional/Caregiver for the Adolescent (Teens) Program at NeuroRestorative plays a vital role in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with brain, spinal cord, and medically complex injuries. This position involves training, assisting, and supervising adolescents in various daily activities, ensuring their well-being and supporting their therapeutic and behavioral plans. The role is crucial for fostering community involvement and enhancing the quality of life for the individuals served.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, assistance, and supervision to individuals receiving care in living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other forms of assistance.
  • Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration.
  • Facilitate working relationships between employers and individuals served, supporting community involvement through outings or transportation.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months to one year of experience in the human services field.
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residence.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to work in the Adolescent (Teens) Program per DCFS specifications.
  • Successful clearance of background checks.
  • A caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills.
  • A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach.
