About the position

The Compensation Analyst 1 position at the University of Cincinnati involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating positions within the university's classification and compensation programs. The role aims to ensure internal and external competitiveness and consistent pay practices while providing information, making decisions, and offering recommendations related to compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate administrative and staff positions in the university's classification and compensation programs, ensuring compliance with HR departmental goals and regulations.
  • Approve personnel change requests (PCR) from business units via the HRIS system and maintain HR systems, providing evaluations and recommendations.
  • Initiate correspondence and respond to inquiries regarding classification recommendations, developing and revising job descriptions and classification specifications.
  • Assist university offices with the implementation of staff reorganizations and conduct salary equity and reclassification determinations.
  • Respond to compensation surveys, conduct salary survey/job market research, and summarize results.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure job data accuracy and assist with researching pay issues.
  • Maintain and update the Compensation site on Bearcats Landing, drafting content as requested.
  • Manage and coordinate the HR Compensation mailbox.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can be used in lieu of the education requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including some advanced features.

  • Experience in human resources, accounting, business administration, or financial analysis.
