The Senior Compensation Analyst (S3) at The Ohio State University plays a crucial role in developing, evaluating, and implementing compensation programs for staff positions across the university. This position is part of the Compensation Center of Expertise team, which emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and innovation. The analyst will work on projects that enhance equitable compensation practices and support the university's mission by ensuring competitive pay structures and job classifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of job architecture and pay range structures.
  • Evaluate and document compensation programs for staff positions.
  • Consult on organizational structures and restructured roles.
  • Classify and determine pay grade levels based on market and internal equity.
  • Evaluate external salary surveys and ensure appropriate job matches.
  • Analyze market data to assess external competitiveness of pay ranges and practices.
  • Model to determine impact and cost analysis for recommended changes.
  • Consult with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on pay rates outside established guidelines.
  • Serve as a resource to the HR Shared Services team.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in compensation analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or in progress.
